What is SBIR/STTR?

What is TABA?
To support companies in commercializing their SBIR and STTR-funded activities, the “Technical and Business Assistance” (TABA) supplement was authorized under the John McCain National Defense Authorization Act in 2018.
TABA allows companies applying for SBIR/STTR Phase 1 or 2 to opt-in (during the proposal process with participating agencies) to receive additional funds; $6,500 for Phase 1 awards and up to $50,000 for Phase 2 awards. For SBIR/STTR recipients, these TABA funds allow companies to receive support—either in-kind through their funding agencies, or to hire veteran vendors like VIKRITI who provide a one-stop-shop for business support services—that will help them commercialize their product.
